Three weeks ago Elsie had her first day at preschool. As expected, the first couple of weeks were a little bumpy. She wouldn't want to get out of bed and would cry when we dropped her off in the morning, however, Ms. Jennifer assured us that soon after we left, she was fine and has been having GREAT days. They play outside a lot, read books together, and do lots of arts and craft projects. We already have a drawer full of her drawings. This week was her third week and she seems to have turned the corner, no crying at dropoff and she doesn't want to leave in the afternoons. She hugs her new friends and teacher goodbye at the end of the day and always tells us that she "had fun today". One of her new friends, Sophie, invited Elsie to her birthday party tomorrow so that will be the first non-family social outing for Elsie. She and Grandma Cox when shopping this morning for the perfect gift. It's a ballerina themed birthday party at a dance studio so I'm sure there are lots of fun things in store for them.
Here are some pictures from Elsie's first day of preschool.
