A couple of weeks ago, the weather was cooperating, so we made a trip to the zoo with Grandma and Grandpa Cox to see all of the animals. It was a little chilly in the morning, but it turned out to be a great day.
This is Nikita, the resident polar bear, Elsie LOVED watching him do back flips into the water. Before we left for the day, we made a last stop by his cage and the trainers had given him a giant bucket to play with. He would stand on his back legs then put the bucket on his head, throw the bucket in the water then dive down and catch it. He was very entertaining and probably the highlight of our day.
New to the zoo this year is a ski lift that they've installed that goes over the Africa exhibit. We ended up riding it a couple of times, it's so cool to be up in the air riding over the animals.
Cheetah on the prowl.
The only animal that Elsie really asked to see at the zoo were the tigers (imagine that!). Well, they apparently had a rough night and were napping instead of playing. Maybe next time.
