One of the big concerns that Sarah and I had was, "would Trixie the cat like Elsie?" Trixie has been the 'only child' for a long time now and there was a good chance she would not like a baby on her turf.
Much to our surprise, Trixie has been fabulous with Elsie. She was a little leary at first, but then grew curious and began sniffing Elsie and her blankets. Once, (and I didn't get a pic of it) she was sniffing Elsie's head and got startled when Elsie moved. Trixie jumped sky high!
Another time, I held Elsie up to the cat's face so Trixie could sniff her. Trixie moved in closer and closer to sniff the baby and when she got in real close, Elsie's arm flew back, in that uncontrolled way that babies arms move around, and she smacked Trixie in the face. Trixie decided to leave the room for a few minutes. :)
Feeling things out

Moving in

At ease

We hope their relationship continues to grow. So far everyone has gotten along really well. We're trying to share the attention when we can.
