Our weekend began on Thursday night when we went outside to enjoy the nice weather. The snow was finally melted enough to go outside and play in the back yard, but Owen and Elsie took advantage of the last little bit of snow by putting all of Owen's construction equipment to good use.
On Friday we drove to Boonville to celebrate an early Easter with Grandma and Grandpa Casanova. The weather was spectacular and we played outside most of the day. However, on Saturday we had to move the Easter Egg Hunt indoors because it rained. Oh well...it was fun anyway!
We had a wonderful ham for lunch and then it was time to head back to KC. We really enjoyed getting to spend some quality time with family. Later that evening after we got home, Elsie and I uncovered the sandbox for the first time this spring. We'll be putting that thing to good use over the next few months. After dinner Mommy helped the kids color Easter Eggs. Owen was especially proud of his. Each time he pulled one out of the dye he squealed with joy. :)
On Easter morning Sarah took advantage of Elsie's normal 6AM wake up time by taking her to 7AM church service. Owen and I slept in...until about 7:00. After church the kids opened up our Easter baskets and had an indoor egg hunt. Then we went over to Grandma and Grandpa Cox's house for lunch and the "big" Easter Egg hunt.
| GO!!! |
It turned out to be an absolutely beautiful day and it was great once again to spend it with family. The kids are sleeping off their sugar highs as I write. When they wake up we'll be going outside, to you guessed it...the sandbox!
See ya!
Ryan, Sarah, Elsie and Owen
