Swim Lessons

Hi Everyone,

It's been hot lately.  Really hot.  But that's ok because swim lessons came at a great time this year.  Instead of taking them in the middle of winter like we did the last couple of years, we scheduled them for a more appropriate time of year.  So for the last two weeks Mon-Thurs we've been swimming.  Elsie would go first from 6-6:45 and then it was Owen's turn from 7-7:30.  Elsie was in the "big girl" class which meant she was all by herself with no parents in the pool (or even in the pool area because they kick everyone out).  Owen got to swim with one of us and we alternated who took who each night.  One of us would stay home, feed Owen, and have dinner while the other would take Elsie, then come home and do dinner with her.  It was a jumbled up couple of weeks but it was a lot of fun.  Both kids REALLY liked it.  Elsie not so much at first but by the end she was having a really good time.  Sarah and I enjoyed it too.  It was good one-on-one bonding time with the kiddos.  And, as hot as it was, the swim was refreshing too!  Ok, enough blabbing, time for some pictures!

Running thru the sprinkler is ALWAYS fun!

Most nights that I took Elsie, we stuck around for a few minutes to watch Owen and Mommy get started

The last night was parents night.  Grandma and Grandpa Cox joined us while Elsie showed off all the things she's learned over the last two weeks.
Elsie and her new friend Chloe, whom she met at swim lessons because they were in the same group.

Owen really liked being in the water too, but the only thing he seemed to care about the whole two weeks was chasing the balls around the pool.

It was enough to make me want to get a pool. And while that probably won't happen anytime soon, we sure did have a good time doing swim lessons and look forward to the next time.

Ryan, Sarah, Elsie, and Owen
