Elsie's 3rd Birthday

It's amazing to think of how much our lives have changed in the three years since Elsie was born.  It's been incredible watching her go from a baby to a little girl complete with her own little personality.  Earlier in the week Elsie moved to her new "big girl" bed.  It's a full size mattress but we left the box springs off so it sets low for her.  Elsie gave it the "jumping on the bed" test and it passed, so she loves it!

Friday was Elsie's 3rd Birthday (which I still can't believe).  She started out the day by watching cartoons and playing in her jammies.  Grandma and Grandpa Cox took her out for lunch at First Watch and after naptime we opened presents and talked to Grandma Casanova on the phone.  For dinner it was her favorite - ham with mac 'n' cheese and French silk pie.

Saturday was her birthday party for friends and family.  It was Minnie Mouse themed (see below) and Sarah did an AWESOME job making all of the decorations.  We grilled burgers and hotdogs, played games, opened presents, and ate cake.  It couldn't have been a better party for Elsie.  She and Owen both had a lot of fun seeing everybody.  Owen got plenty of attention and did his best to try and help Elsie with her presents.

What could be in the box that was bigger than Elsie?

How bout that Mommy?

With the party over it was time to celebrate New Year's Eve.  Elsie celebrated by performing music for Owen.
Elsie and Owen both love playing with the keyboard.  Elsie likes to make music and sing, while Owen likes crawling across it because it makes fun noises.  :)

"This is the best concert I've ever been to!"

Happy Birthday, Elsie!  We wish you many many more.

Happy New Year to everyone else!
