Playing Catch Up

Yes, we realize we're behind on our blogging.  Life has been busy lately and when it comes time to sit down and relax, it's easy to forget about putting together a blog.  After this entry, be sure to keep reading, several new ones have just been posted.  And now to play catch up...

We are all doing good, busy, but everyone is healthy and happy and we couldn't ask for anything else.

Owen now has 6 teeth and is still chewing and drooling like crazy.  He started pushing up to crawl about a week ago and he's getting more proficient every day.  He can get across a room in about a minute and you really have to watch what you leave on the floor or it will be in his mouth in a matter of seconds.  He has a thing for electrical cords - fantastic.  In the past week he has also started to pull up some.  If you're laying on the floor with him, he will crawl over, grab on to you and stand right up.  He is always on the go, the squirmiest child I have ever met, doesn't stay still for a second.  Elsie walked at 8 months and I fully expect him to be right on track with that.  That means walking by Thanksgiving, running by Christmas?  Eeek, I'm not sure that I'm ready for that yet.

Elsie is doing good too.  Her vocabulary is amazing and she says the funniest things.  If you suggest that she do something, she's clear about telling you if "that's not a good idea, mommy".  She loves her little brother like no other and showers him with hugs and kisses all the time.  The big news with Elsie is that she's starting preschool soon.  The place she goes to now is good, but we wanted her to have something with more structure and activities to keep her busy during the days while we are at work.  She starts in mid-October.  We know that it is going to be quite an adjustment for her and she's really not too excited about it yet.  I think she likes the idea of preschool, but maybe not for her.  She has repeatedly told us that "I'm not going to preschool" then changed her tune to "I'll go to preschool when I get older, maybe".  That "maybe" will be here in a couple of weeks and once she gets over that initial hump and gets into the groove, she is going to love it.

Ryan and I are good too, enjoying the cooler weather and looking forward to fun family activities this fall.  We're planning on doing family pictures and a trip to the pumpkin patch in October.

And now some pictures, because that's what you really come here for...
