Scrub A Dub Dub

Elsie has been helping out with a lot of the household chores lately. Everyone knows about her carrying her clothes to the hamper after bathtime, but that's not all. She helps feed Trixie (the cat) in the mornings by carrying her food over to her dish and putting one scoop in. She picks up sticks out of the yard before Daddy mows and she helps Mommy water her garden and take laundry out of the dryer. She even tries to brush her teeth without any help. Seems like every day she's trying to help us out in a different way.

On Friday, Elsie tried to help Mommy scrub the kitchen floor. As you can see, she doesn't have it down just yet but it's the thought that counts, right? :)

Elsie's also learned to work her way up onto the ottoman and chair. Pretty soon no place will be safe from her!

Daddy: That's a stool Elsie, not a go-kart.
Elsie: Ok, Daddy.

Elsie: Hey Daddy, look what I used the stool to help me do!
Daddy: Uh oh! :)

Rain this weekend has kept us inside most of the time, but we did find time this afternoon to go to the park for a little while. It was great because we had the place all to ourselves so Elsie got to do pretty much whatever she wanted. Elsie made a "funny" when we let her venture off a little ways on her own (since no one else was there). She kept going farther and farther away from us and we waited and watched to see how far she'd go on her own. She got a little ways away then turned and looked at us and smiled and said, "Bye!" and then she turned and took off running. Cute, huh? :)
Later,
Ryan, Sarah, and Elsie
