Busy Week

Elsie has had a pretty busy week. To start with, she got to attend her first graduation on Saturday. Daddy was graduating from MNU with an MBA (even though he doesn't actually finish school for another 6 months). Elsie was a doll during the ceremony (or so I heard).

Afterwards, she got to see both sets of grandparents and pig out on some Johnny's BBQ for lunch. The party was really nice and it was great to spend time with our families.

I'm taking off work this week to take care of some things around the house. Elsie has been quite the little helper so far... (I swear this photo was not staged. She just started climbing the ladder all by herself!)

This spring Elsie has become quite the water lover. Anytime a faucet is on anywhere in the house she tries to get her hands/feet wet. When I'm watering the new grass she tries to get in front of the sprayer. She's going to love it this summer when we break out the sprinkler!

Cleanup on aisle five!

Today, Grandma and Grandpa Cox invited us to the Kansas City Zoo. Last year about this time we went to the zoo for the first time. Elsie had a great time that day and we were eager to see what she would think of it now that she's got a little more of an idea what animals are.

Elephants!

Much better view from up here, Daddy!

Checking out the wildlife with Grandma Cox.

Elsie and Mommy in the aviary.

Playing in the alligator with Mommy.

Meerkats!!!

At first Mr. Tiger wasn't doing much, just pacing back and forth off to the side of the cage. But something got into him (catnip?) and he started playing with this enormous ball. I never thought that tigers "played" with anything, but he was acting like a big, younger version of Trixie!

Gettin' after it! (with Elsie cheering him on)

Elsie really liked the sheep. This one was REALLY personable and came right up to her.

We had a great time at the zoo today and Elsie was completely pooped when we left. She barely even made it out of the parking lot before zonking out, but she didn't leave the zoo empty handed. Elsie got to bring home her own little stuffed tiger to cuddle up with tonight when she went to bed. Think we'll name him Truman. :)

Adios,

Ryan, Sarah, & Elsie

  1. I'm glad she likes The Giving Tree, it's a favorite of mine too. She can come and wash my windows anytime, what a doll!!!
