A year ago today...

I loathed Tuesdays. I worked all day then had class for 4 hours in the evening. And that Tuesday was like any other day, for the most part anyway. That afternoon I decided that on my way home from work, before class, I would stop by CVS. I bought a pregnancy test, well, actually 3 pregnancy tests. I got home, took the test, then waited the longest three minutes of my life... Much to my surprise, there was a faint line, I was pregnant, but there wasn't anyone home to share the news with! I considered waiting until Ryan's birthday (the 17th) to tell him, but anyone that knows me well, knows I can't keep news like this to myself!

Since Ryan wasn't home yet, I went ahead and got all ready to head to class. Ryan was running a bit late that day and arrived home just a couple of minutes before I had to leave. He immediately ran upstairs to change clothes so he could mow the yard. As he was on his way outside to mow, I kissed him goodbye and said that I had something for him to think about while I was at class. Out of my back pocket, I pulled out the test (in a zipock bag of course!) and handed it to him. It took him a minute to figure out what it was, but then his eyes were huge, he was so excited.

It feels like such a long time ago, as our lives have changed so much. We are so thankful for Elsie and couldn't imagine our lives without her. We're excited about the future and look forward to the many memories to come.
