Owen's 9th Birthday!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO OWEN!

Is it really possible that he is 9 years old?  How time flies...

Owen's Birthday was on Monday, so Sunday we had Grandma Cas and KK over for lunch.  Grandma and Grandpa Cox came over later that evening too.

Owen got a sweet new mountain bike (which he can't wait to get muddy)

He also got a display case for his trusty old neon green bat...which has a lot of history on it.

Owen's Birthday Party was Friday night.  He had four friends over for a sleepover.  The rest of us were in for some fun.

The boys played football in the back yard until dinner.

The plan was to eat dinner and then head to Urban Air.

You can imagine how much fun the kiddos had running, bouncing, and running some more.
Elsie got to have her bestie, Grace, over to spend the night too.

After some cookie cake, the boys played video games in the basement until 11PM.  Then we got them to settle down and get ready for bed in the living room.  At 4AM I heard Millie bark so I went downstairs and there was no one to be found in the living room.  They were all downstairs playing video games!  Guess they got up at 3AM.  Boys...

In other news, I thought this was a cute scenario written by Elsie.

With the arrival of Spring we've started to get outside more, which feels great.  We took Millie for a walk a couple weeks ago at Big Bull Creek Park.  She loved it!

In Scouts, we studied forensics and chromatography.  The kiddos seperated colors using a coffee filter and water and they studied 4 household powders (sugar, salt, corn starch, and baking soda)

I'm not positive, but a "taste test" to determine what kind of powder it is, seems like a bad idea to me.  :)

Had a really nice evening this week so we all took our new-ish bikes out for a family bike ride.  Sarah adopted my Dad's old bike and I think it fits her great.  We now all have bikes with gears so our range should be greatly extended.  Bring on the Katy Trail!
In other news, this week was pretty depressing.  The fears of Coronavirus have started hitting home.  All sporting events have been cancelled.  This includes March Madness.  People are hoarding toilet paper and other cleaning supplies and the paranoia and gloom are creating a sense of melancholy.  Our friends in Italy are essentially locked in their homes by order of the Italian Government.  We are all hoping this ends soon...  The kids started spring break yesterday and I am doubtful they will be returning to school when it is over.  This week things changed SO fast. Trying to imagine where we will be in another week is almost impossible.  And on that note...

See ya,
The Casanovas
