Owen Riding His Bike and Ryan's Trip to Taiwan

This afternoon we took the training wheels off of Owen's bike and practiced riding without them.  Owen did really well, and though he got frustrated, he kept it together long enough to reap the sweet reward of riding about 40-50ft all by himself!

GO OWEN!!!

Owen earned a slush for trying so hard

Also, back in January, I was fortunate enough to go to Taiwan again on business.  This time I went with my bosses boss, my boss, and a couple of others.  We flew Delta the whole way, which meant 3 flights to get there.  Flight 1 was from KC to Minneapolis (1.5hr), Flight 2 was from Minneapolis to Tokyo (12hrs), and Flight 3 was from Tokyo to Taipei (3hrs).  We left KC very early on Sunday morning and arrived to Taipei very late on Monday night.  We worked in the Taiwan office Tues-Thurs and flew back on Friday.  Because we crossed the International Date Line going east when we came back, we made up a day.  Essentially, we left Taipei Friday morning and arrived in KC, after traveling for over 20hrs, on Friday afternoon.  I spent the weekend recovering and was fine after that.  It was a great trip.  Once again we got to meet and work with some great people!

First time being in a plane that had to be de-iced (leaving Minneapolis)

JAPAN!

They took us out for BBQ one night.  This was great because you got to grill up different little cuts of meat right at your table.  Weirdest thing I ate?  Chicken hearts and beef tongue...which actually weren't that bad.

LOVE the bubble tea

Most awesome no smoking add ever - right in the lobby!

Out to eat another night at a Japanese style Teriyaki restaurant

Souvenirs for the kids.
