Millie Update

Over the last two weeks, Millie has been feeling A LOT better!  Her energy and appetite returned after being on antibiotics for a few days and she is now acting completely puppy-like.  That means chewing on her toys, being more rambunctious, and doing all sorts of other cute things.  She still has some gravelly breathing though, but that was to be expected.  And while she does have more energy, she tires out pretty quickly so we have been careful to try not to overdo the playing.

We did have one scare yesterday though.  When we left for work, we noticed that one of her eyebrows was swollen.  We assumed she'd bumped it somehow and that it would be fine.  Instead, when we came home for lunch we noticed that both of her ears and her head were swollen too!!!  She was very lethargic and wouldn't eat either.  So we took her to the vet ASAP and she gave her Benadryl and a steroid.  Not sure what she got into but it was some sort of allergic reaction to something.  Anyway, within a few hours she was feeling much better and by today the swelling is pretty much all gone.  Weird...  On a high note, the vet said that Millie looked GREAT compared to the last time she saw her and that she'd gained 4 lbs!  Good girl!

Thanks to the warmer weather we have been able to get outside and explore the back yard a little more.  Millie LOVES all the new smells and she has been so good at staying close that we've let her off her leash a few times.  She loves it!  Today she kept going into the tall brush behind our house and you could tell she was REALLY excited about it.  Like she realized, "I'm a lab, I was born for this!"  :)

Millie loves her squeaky football.  So much that sometimes you see her walking around with green fuzz dangling out of her mouth because it has been completely shredded. :)

FREEDOM!

Elsie didn't realize I let Millie go on purpose and immediately tried to stop her.  Elsie missed her collar so she grabbed the next thing to zoom by.  :)

Who knew rabbit poop could be so exciting?

See ya!
