Boonville Weekend & Pumpkin Patch II

Every October we make it a point to get down to Boonville for a weekend of being outdoors.  This year we had big plans to visit the pumpkin patch, have a bonfire, ride bikes, and just play.  We left on Friday morning, but things didn't go as planned.  Sarah had a head cold which had gotten worse overnight, and by the time we got to Boonville she was regretting her decision to come on the trip.  So about 15 minutes after arriving we decided that it was best that Sarah go back home for the weekend so she could relax and try to get well.  We left the kids there and headed back to KC.  Luckily, Sarah's Dad was able to meet us halfway, in Odessa, which worked out well.  I got back to Boonville just in time for a late lunch. Then we took the kids over to Rolling Hills Park to ride their bikes because Grandma and Grandpa Cas hadn't seen Elsie ride w/o training wheels yet.  After that I went for a bike ride on the Katy Trail while Grandma and Elsie hung out together while Owen napped.  Then it was time to do more playing in the backyard!

A few laps around the building was about all they could muster.  The playground was just too much of a distraction. :)

Banzai!

Saturday afternoon we visited the pumpkin patch...
We got out of the truck and by the time I turned around the kids were WAY down there! :)

Owen LOVED this!  He said, "THEY HAVE A BIG SANDBOX FULL OF CORN!!!  But they don't have any toys..."

My little Outlaw...

The corn maze was fun.  So fun in fact that Elsie and I went twice (she likes mazes).

I didn't get any pics of the bonfire, but our friends Aaron, Katrina, and Livia came out along with my buddy Alan.  We had a fire, roasted weenies and made smores.  It was a fun albeit late night.  Sunday morning Alan and I went for a bike ride on the Katy Trail.  We had my Dad take us out to Clifton City, about 22 miles southwest of Boonville, and drop us off.  It took about 2hrs, but we rode the whole way home.  We were sore, but it was a beautiful, sunny, fall day.  Perfect for a long bike ride.  After lunch I loaded up the kiddos and we came home to see Mommy.  She still had her cold, but was feeling quite a bit better.

See ya,

Ryan, Sarah, Elsie, and Owen
