Friday afternoon the weather cooperated enough that we were able to take a trip to the local Children's Farmstead, Deanna Rose. It's one of our favorite places to go when the weather is nice and since school is back in session, it's not too crowded either.
Elsie in the schoolhouse in a desk just her size, writing on the chalkboards
Ringing the cow bells
With mommy
Petting a baby goat
Elsie's first time fishing with Papa Cox, they caught several and Elsie was even brave enough to touch one of them.
Feeding the big goats out of her hand
Flower child
Walking through the gardens
Feeding the ducks
Owen was SO good while we were there. He sat in the stroller and took it all in, hardly made a peep all day long. By lunchtime he was pretty tuckered out.
Cowgirl Elsie. Papa Cox bought this hat for Elsie. As soon as she started wearing it she kept saying "Mooo, Mooo, Mooo... We thought she was just being silly until she said, "Mooo, I'm a cowgirl" and it clicked. She's so silly.
After seeing, feeding, petting, and smelling all the animals, we headed to get a special treat at the ice cream shop. Elsie's only had ice cream a handful of times, but she loves it. So before we headed home, we filled our tummies and spoiled our lunches with tasty treats. Elsie told me several times that afternoon/evening how much fun she had- as did the rest of us.
