There's been a lot going on lately! Don't believe me?
Ryan's 40th Birthday Party
| This was actually on my birthday. Elsie went upstairs for awhile and when she came back down she was dressed to impress! |
| Sarah did a really great job planning my party. The main thing I wanted was to have lots of friends and their families over. It ended up being quite a shin-dig. |
| The weather was sketchy but it ended up being warm enough that the kids could play outside and we could do a fire pit. The kids ran and ran and ran. The adults stood around and talked, and drank beer and ate bbq. That's a pretty perfect evening! |
| My birthday did not go unnoticed at work. The basket of Depends, Preparation H, and prune juice was a nice touch as well! |
Bring Your Child to Work Day
| Elsie was old enough this year to come to work with us. She helped me in the morning and then sat with Sarah in the afternoon. Here she is helping me put together a PowerPoint presentation for a group meeting the following day. |
| Garmin has all sorts of activities to choose from. This is the engineering activity. We made dance pads that light up an lcd when you press down on them. |
| Break time! |
| Hot chocolate. The mug, btw, was given to me by my Team Leaders. It says, "Worlds Okayest Boss." They didn't want to give me too big of a head. :) |
| We also toured the facility. Here's a neat spot where you can look out across the warehouse. |
Having Fun
We built a jump ramp
Picking Strawberries
| It was a BEAUTIFUL day! |
| YUM! |
| We had strawberries all week! |
Mother's Day
| The kids each made Mommy a very sweet card |
| Owen made a book at school for Mommy |
| And Elsie made her an entire world on Minecraft. |
Royals Game
| We had a great time at the game! The kids had hot dogs, popcorn, and sno-cones |
| ...and helmet sundaes! |
Owen is a heck of a fan! The Royals rallied to take the lead and Owen got excited!
Softball for Elsie
| Elsie has been playing great! She's been hitting good and says that me not taking pictures of her while she's hitting is why. Can't mess with a streak...so no pictures of her hitting. :) |
| I can, however, take a pic of her catching... |
| ...and fielding. |
Baseball for Owen
| Owen is doing coach pitch baseball this year in the Spring Hill Rec League. He's had 3 of 4 practices rained out, so his first practice was a make up at our school. |
| Here's where he is supposed to practice. |
| At the last practice he got his uniform! His team is the Orioles. |
| Orange is Owen's favorite color, btw... |
| PLAY BALL! |
| Owen hit really well and even got to slide in to home! :) |
Worlds of Fun
| A May tradition, thanks to Garmin. This year we didn't take many pictures because we were SO busy riding rides. The kids were tall enough to ride pretty much everything...and they did1 |
| The kids are the two in black right at the top. They rode this 3 times in a row. We rode the Detonator, Mamba, Fury of the Nile and a bunch of others. |
| Here we are in line for Spinning Dragons. It was a GREAT day. We had so much fun and the weather could not have been better! |
Can you spot Owen on the Finnish Fling?
Kindergarten Graduation
| CONGRATULATIONS to Owen on completing Kindergarten! We are so proud! |
Last Day of School
SCHOOL IS OUT! Sarah helped with play day and the end of school classroom parties. |
School is out and the pools are open. It is officially summer for us. The kids are doing Y-Camp this summer. It is at our school, so very convenient. They do all sorts of fun things like taking field trips and going swimming every week. Next week, though, Elsie has Girl Scout Camp, which sounds like a lot of fun. The following week, both kids are going to do Camp Invention, which is focused on STEM (science, technology, engineering, math) activities, so that should be really neat. Also, swim lessons start on Monday. Between that, softball, and baseball we should have plenty to do!
Later,
Ryan, Sarah, Elsie, and Owen
