Fall Adventure

This fall has been nice!  The weather has been beautiful and we have been taking advantage of it when we can.  The kids have made friends with the neighbor girls and it doesn't feel nearly as lonely at the end of the street as it did a month ago.  What IS nice about not many people living out here is that we can play in the cul de sac and the empty lots in addition to our yard.  Lots of space and rarely anyone around, especially on the weekends.
Elsie and Owen really like the lot next door.  They used Owen's dump truck and end loader to construct a house for me (it's right in front of Elsie).

I just sit on my tailgate and watch them go!

VROOM!!!
As for the "adventure" part of the blog title...we went down to Boonville last weekend to visit Grandma and Grandpa Cas.  Our itinerary included a visit to the pumpkin patch, a weenie roast and bonfire, camping in Grandma's back yard, and lots of playtime for the kids.  There was also a date night for Mommy and Daddy, and a couple of bike rides for me on the Katy Trail.  Everyone was a winner!

Banzai!

Elsie was the "leader" in the corn maze and she guided us through like a pro.

Owen testing out the tent right after we got it set up.  This was going to be his first camp out!

Nothing like a bonfire behind the shed!
The weenie roast and bonfire were a lot of fun.  Then it was bedtime, so we put on our layers of clothes (low was  going to be around 35 degrees) and headed out to the tent.  We slept ok and we were packed in so tight that I don't think there was any way we were going to get cold.  The kids woke up around 6AM and promptly headed up to Grandma's house for a snack. :)

After lunch it was back to KC in time to catch the Chiefs game.  They won - weekend adventure complete!

See ya,
Ryan, Sarah, Elsie, and Owen
