This weekend Elsie went to visit Grandma and Grandpa Casanova. The plan was to take her down on Thursday morning and they would bring her back on Sunday. It would be a much needed change of scenery for Elsie and it gave Mommy and Daddy some time to relax with Owen. Elsie was SO excited about going to visit. She talked and talked about it the whole week leading up to it. Mommy and Daddy got a quiet weekend and even an afternoon to themselves on Saturday thanks to Grandma and Grandpa Cox who watched Owen for us. It was amazing how clean our house stayed. :)
After dropping Owen off at daycare Thursday morning, Elsie and I headed to Boonville.
Grandma told Elsie she'd paint her toes any color she wanted. All week Elsie had been saying "blue" so that's just what they did!
Getting the mail with Grandpa
On Friday Elsie and Grandma were going to go swimming at Aunt Marilyn's pool. Elsie woke up ready to go!
The plan for Friday night was to go to the Cooper County Fair. Elsie loved Worlds of Fun, so we knew she'd love the fair. She was a little timid of the rides and only rode a few. The merry-go-round was by far her favorite.
The duck game was the first game that I can remember playing at the fair. What fun!
The fair was fun, Elsie got to pet a rabbit, ride some rides, play the ducks, AND she got a great big sno-cone! It was a late night for her but she was up the next morning ready to go to the park.
Checking out the Mighty Mo from Lookout Point
Feeding the deer
Saturday night involved lots of playing and a movie before bedtime. On Sunday Grandma, Grandpa, and Aunt Marilyn were coming up to bring Elsie home and to see Owen. We all missed each other and everyone was happy to be reunited.
Elsie couldn't wait to show everyone how she and Mommy dance to her kids songs.
Elsie had TONS of hugs and kisses stored up for Owen.
Time for some rice cereal...
...but Owen was more interested in nibbling on his piggies. :)
We had a nice lunch and afterwards it was time for Grandma, Grandpa, and Aunt Marilyn to leave. Elsie didn't want to see them go because she'd had so much fun, but we told her there would be other fun times ahead and that put her at ease.
Here's to yet another great weekend!
Ryan, Sarah, Elsie, and Owen
