Father's Day

Father's Day weekend started off on the patio watching Elsie play at her water table on Friday night. Mommy was inside with Owen so Elsie and I were talking as she played. Out of the blue she said, "Daddy, we got you a kite!" I said, "A what?" and she said, "A kite, it goes up in the sky." Even though she had spoiled the surprise, it was so cute and innocent that I didn't mind at all.

Saturday morning, Mommy and Elsie got up extra early to meet up with Grandma Cox and go blueberry picking. It's one of Mommy's favorite things to do and of course Elsie had a fun time too.

Blueberries and rocks? :)

Owen and I chilled out and had some male bonding time and watched the National Geography Bee. Those kids were amazing!

On Sunday, Sarah made biscuits and gravy and it was delicious. After breakfast we all got dressed and took a trip to Nebraska Furniture Mart to look around at a few things. After that we came home and had lunch and opened presents.

Sweet kite!

Sarah got me an iPod! I'd been wanting one for awhile and it was a great surprise.

Owen has a new best friend, Sophie the chewy giraffe. He loves gnawing on her face and hooves. He really gets into it!

It was a pretty low key Father's Day but that was by design. I got to spend the whole weekend with my family and that was exactly what I wanted. I am one very lucky Daddy.
